Here’s a few quick photos of what I’ve been up to.

Watercolour Eyes With Ravneet.

March 3rd, 2011 | sherrybomb

I love my job! I get to meet such interesting and lovely people. Ravneet is just stunning, not to mention funny, sweet and super smart! Here, we demonstrate a pretty and vividly coloured eye. First- we start with clean foundation.

Next, I placed some colourful base on the eyes.

Then you can just wing it. Choose pretty colours that look good next to each other. The colours I choose all lay next to each other on the colour wheel. If you like to get technical (and I do), it’s called an analogous colour scheme.

Once you’ve applied your colours- blend the edges out with nude tones to get a finished, clean effect. I blended a warm golden brown (a darker version of Ravneet’s complexion) into the crease, and dusted a lighter nude tone under the liner to give it a clean edge.

My personal favourite- lots of black liner, mascara and lashes!

A pretty watercolour eye!

A Smoky Eye with Alison

February 26th, 2011 | sherrybomb

Here’s an easy smoky eye, modeled by my good friend Alison.

We started with clean foundation, soft highlighting and subdued blush.  I added a light base colour all over (MAC Orb Eye Shadow).  Apply it with a soft, fluffy brush to get a really light dusting.

Next, I added a natural colour to the crease, to add definition (MAC Kid Eye Shadow).

I placed a sheer dark colour next to the lash line (MAC Blue Brown Pigment). Concentrate the colour at the lash line, and blend it softly upwards, towards the crease of the eye.

The colour should just softly dissolve into the crease. If you have trouble getting a soft edge- simply take your crease brush and buff the edge of your smoky colour out with your neutral crease colour.

Add a rich black liner into the waterline.

Use a dark black liquid or crème/ gel liner across the top lash and extend slightly outwards at the outer corner.

Add loads of mascara and really full false lashes.  That’s it!  It’s that easy to do a sexy, smoky eye. I love the contrast of the dark eye makeup against Alison’s light hair, eyes and skin.  Pretty!

Liquid Liner with Julia W. Black

Here, I demonstrate an easy technique for applying liquid or gel liner.  You just need the right tools!
My gorgeous friend, Julia W. Black, was kind enough to model for me.  Julia and I worked together on a CTV web based series called Get Fresh.  Julia is a design and fashion guru!  She has been featured on eTalk for her fashion know-how and was the design assistant on HGTV’s Pure Design.  See more Julia Here.  Watch the video Here.

Simple Fresh Delicious

January 31st, 2011 | sherrybomb

I do makeup for Lovoni Walker of Simple Fresh Delicious. I’ve worked on the show for 3 seasons.  It’s super fun.  Lovoni is gorgeous, fun, and has an awesome sense of humour.  We laugh a lot.  Oh, and she’s a talented chef, too!  The crew is awesome- it’s just a lot of fun <-check out the bloopers.  You’ll see my job is basically to be on hand with tissue, wiping up tears of laughter.

Jann Arden guested on an episode.  She has a wicked wit.  God, she’s funny.
